The deadline to register to vote before this year’s election is October 18, 2022
- If you or someone you know is not registered to vote and will be 18 years old on or before November 8th, register to vote online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register, or in person at the Burlington County Clerk or Evesham Municipal Clerk’s office, or with a paper application from VOTE.NJ.GOV.
- You can check your voter registration status at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/registration-check.
Voter ID
- New Jersey only requires voters to provide identification in order to register to vote. If you did not provide ID when you registered, you may be asked to show ID at your polling place.
Provisional Ballots/Voting Difficulties
- Provisional ballots are legitimate forms of voting that are used when the eligibility or credibility of the voter is in question. All provisional ballots, once cleared by the Board of Elections, are counted the same as casting a vote any other way.
- If there are any issues with casting a vote at your polling place on or before Election Day, do not leave your polling place without asking for a provisional ballot. The Board of Elections worker will provide you with a paper ballot, envelope, and private place to vote, and will collect your ballot after you seal the envelope and sign and complete the Affirmation Statement. If you spoil (make an error) on your ballot, you have the right to ask for another ballot.
- If you applied to vote-by-mail but then decide to vote in-person for any reason, you will be asked to cast a provisional ballot. This allows the Board of Elections to ensure that you did not vote twice.
