We’re honored to have so many veterans living in our community, and we know that it is our duty to provide the best services for them. We established the Disability and Veteran Advisory Committee to do just that. In just a couple of years we have interviewed veterans to share their stories with our community; held a Korean War 70th Anniversary commemoration and bench dedication; held veteran get-togethers at the Gibson House and began the “Coffee with a Vet” program; engaged with middle-school students in Veterans Day activities; placed a POW/MIA Empty Chair at the municipal building; have begun work on a Veterans Wall, and rescheduled our annual Veterans Day ceremonies to be more accessible to all residents.

We worked with Burlington County to improve our veterans’ knowledge of and directions to our local VA Clinic, and joined with Heroic Gardens to improve and cleanup the landscaping at our Marlton VFW post.

For our work on providing public contracts and workforce commitments to veterans, placement of dedicated veteran and Purple Heart recipient parking, our Township was awarded a 2021 “Veteran Friendly Municipality” certification from the New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce in addition to the New Jersey Governor’s “We Value Our Veterans” award our Township received in 2019 and 2021.
