JACLYN (JACKIE) VEASY is a lifelong resident of Evesham Township and has served as the Mayor of Evesham Township since 2019. As Mayor, Jackie chairs the Evesham Township Council, works with her colleagues on Council and the Township Manager to develop policies and ideas for the township and represents the township at all levels of government and with many regional boards, commissions, and task forces. Mayor Veasy has guided the township through multiple budgets without increasing taxes, including during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when local finances and services were challenged beyond the norm. Mayor Veasy takes great pride in making sure that Evesham residents and businesses all have a voice as well as receive the support they need and the recognition they deserve in and out of town. Mayor Veasy’s leadership has been recognized with appointments to the New Jersey League of Municipalities, New Jersey Conference of Mayors, the Governor’s Restart and Recovery Advisory Council, and as a speaker at regional chamber of commerce events.
Born and raised in Marlton, Jackie is a graduate of St. Joan of Arc School, Holy Cross High School and Rutgers University. Jackie has been a veteran of the insurance industry for over a decade and, more recently, started an entrepreneurial, small business venture life coaching clients for personal and professional wellness.
Jackie is a proud team leader in her workplace, on Council, and as a long-time volunteer in Evesham Township. For over a decade, she has served as a committee member for the Relay for Life of Marlton, which raises considerable sums for the American Cancer Society with their annual fundraising event.
Devoted to her alma mater, Jackie is an active member of the St. Joan of Arc Parish family, serving as a Lector at Sunday Mass. With her mother, Joan, Jackie coordinates St. Joan of Arc’s Sunday-morning children’s liturgy program. Jackie also organizes and volunteers at St. Joan of Arc’s annual summer carnival.
Jackie is an avid traveler and yoga practitioner. Her family and friends are incredibly important to her, as is her desire to give back to the community in which she and her siblings were raised.
Jackie and her family share a strong commitment to civics and make a point of staying informed about local elections and politics. In 2015, during the Veasy family’s annual tradition of discussing the candidates on a given ballot, Jackie was taken aback that no one was running against the incumbent State legislators who represent Evesham Township. With 24 hours to go before the election, Jackie felt strongly that voters were given a choice, so she told her friends and family to write in her name on the ballot. Despite the odds, Jackie garnered 70 write-in votes in just a day’s time. Since being elected in 2018 and her swearing-in in 2019, Jackie has been able to show her deep level of commitment to her community and exercise her civic responsibility on behalf of all residents, making sure that Evesham is the best place to live, work, and play in New Jersey.
