Keeping Our Community Safe

Keeping our community safe is our top priority. We have maintained full-funding and staff levels for our police to keep our residents and businesses safe. And when school funding issues threatened School Resource Officer (SRO) coverage at our public elementary and middle schools, we came up with a three-year plan to ensure full SRO coverage. In addition, we created a “Redevelopment Community Development Fund” that diverted a percentage of PILOT (payment-in-lieu-of-taxes) revenue from all of the long-term agreements given out by our predecessors. This year, that fund started paying out by awarding a grant to the Evesham Township School District for school security system cameras and a grant for a Utility Terrain Vehicle to Evesham Fire-Rescue.

We actively supported and participated in community policing events like Shop with a Cop, Trunk or Treat, free neighborhood ice cream and BBQ events, Coffee with a Cop, and other efforts that bring our police and residents together.

Another accomplishment was arranging to have new police recruits receive training at the Camden County Police Academy. This not only raises their preparedness for the job, but also helps our township get a more diverse pool of officers to choose from and at a lower cost to the taxpayer.
